Missouri Dexter Breeders Association Youth Page

One of the MDBA’s goals is to expand the Youth Program, following the development of the MDBA Youth Committee the Youth Heifer Program was adopted.  The program relies on breeders to donate registered heifers to the association where they will be awarded to selected youth applicants. Last year the MDBA received 3 heifers and awarded those heifers to three youth applicants. Those youth members must report back to the association at each meeting providing the membership with status reports on their heifer. The heifer must  be shown at 2 local/MDBA shows or at the ADCA Nationals each year for the first 3 years.  The first calf from the heifer is then returned  to the MDBA where if a heifer the calf is awarded to another youth applicant. If the calf is a bull it will be either sold as a herd bull or steered.  The profits from that sale will then be used to purchase another heifer to award another youth applicant.   If you are interested in donating a heifer to this youth project, please email Michelle at Michelle.burns1@ipaper.com.
